Customer Service Specialist (manufacturing)

Our client a leading provider in the production and processing of industrial minerals and is looking to add an experienced Customer Service Specialist to their team. The ideal candidates for this role will be polished, professional and thrive in an atmosphere that requires multi tasking.


Demonstrate the ability to perform all entry levels and intermediate task of a Customer Service Specialist.

General To communicate and provide information on all areas of the Paper and Packaging business to other departments. Maintain all departmental filing systems, including customer files. Recommend changes to policies and establish procedures that affect immediate organizations operation.

Customer Service Solely responsible for exceptional customer support, limited technical assistance, processing orders, ensuring on time delivery by warehouses, handling complaints, sample requests, credit requests etc. Employing extensive professional expertise as a generalist or specialist in Customer Relations while providing back-up support to the Canadian office.

Order Processing Receive order via fax, phone or e-mail, send confirmations, fax orders to warehouse, make sure B/L received once order has shipped and process order through from released todelivered status in IFS.

Accounts Payable Receive and code invoices for transportation, warehouse costs etc. Keep monthly excel spreadsheet of all invoices received and passed to A/P for payment. At month end advise AP of any necessary accruals (Sales or A/P).

Purchasing Enter and process purchase orders, regular orders and transfer orders for DBK and buy in sites. Confirm pricing and ensure invoice is received and processed by A/P for the applicable month.

End of Month Reporting Responsible for acquiring and verifying month end sales and inventory figures as needed by various departments.

Budgeting Assisting Sales and Management with necessary information via call reports in efforts to successfully accomplish the Annual Budgeting goals.

Rotational after-hour / weekend assistance to customers and production teams to ensure adequate onsite inventories.

Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM



--Good written and oral communications skills

--Understanding of logistics and ERP Systems

--Experience using Micro Soft based applications

--Strong problem resolution and analytical skills

--Proven ability to juggle multiple and often competing task and demands

--Excellent communication skills and ability to work across functional departments.






BA Degree preferred, but not mandatory

3+ years in Customer Service in a manufacturing environment required.

1 years experience using Microsoft AX or compatible ERP system.

Strongly skilled in MS systems, preferable Excel and Powerpoint.

Export/Import knowledge a plus
