Senior Overall Program Manager will deliver portfolio of impactful projects/programs as assigned, and serve as change agent driving adoption of Client's Program Management Lifecycle (PMLC) at Chicago.
Responsible to provide direction, prioritization and structure to enable efficient implementation of assigned projects and initiatives
Responsible for directing the implementation of strategic planning, leading and directing all aspects of major, diverse, and highly complex programs impacting the operation
Owns hands-on delivery of programs
Will coordinate with PMs from Corporate Real Estate, Client Operations, Technology and Corporate Support Center as the overall Program Manager reporting Portfolio status
Provides specialized technical aviation knowledge or equivalent, program management expertise, business acumen, and leadership skills to facilitate the identification and management of all interdependencies and areas of risk
Will adhere to the UA Program Management Life Cycle framework and all policy, procedure, guidelines as applicable
KEY DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES
40% - Lead and manage projects as assigned, both tactical and strategic
40% - Deliver high quality artifacts and outcome through all phases of PMLC including Envision, Design, Build, and Activate as needed to realize measurable business results
10% - Coach, guide, train project team members and other PMs on EDBA, PMLC and related artifacts and deliverables
10% - Assist team members and research operational and performance data to provide statistics, trends, and reporting that inform leadership steering and decision-making, and as assigned
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION
Undergraduate degree in business, technical, or aviation related discipline required
Advanced degree preferred
Project Management (PMI) Certification (Preferred)
Lean Six Sigma certification (Preferred)
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
Experience managing multiple large, complex projects across multiple functions
Experience managing and mentoring project management staff
Proven expertise successfully managing business and technical resources under an integrated project plan to ensure the alignment of resources
Experience presenting, escalating, and providing solutions to senior leadership
Demonstrated experience delivering measurable business benefit through project execution
Strong interpersonal, verbal and presentation skills
Demonstrated proficiency in facilitating, delegating and motivating cross functional groups or activities
Exposure with change management/facilitation, enterprise communication and training
Highly organized, and the ability to multi-task competing priorities
Provide leadership, guidance, influence and mentoring for project teams
Experience with process/system mapping and analysis
Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Experience with process/system mapping and analysis
Proven project management experience
Ability to manage business and technical resources with an integrated project plan
Experience presenting, escalating, and providing solutions to senior leadership
Experience working within SDLC/PMLC and a track record of delivery

EXPERIENCE
7+ years work experience
5+ years managing projects
Demonstrated successful project delivery using fundamentals of PMBOK practices/methodologies
Demonstrated successful execution using SDLC, PMLC, DMAIC or DFSS methodology

Need is for a true Overall Program Manager to apply PMLC methodology, develop plans, and keep people moving with a more structured approach.
Will coordinate facility, IT, and process improvement projects across the Client. Will need to be prepared for a very large, complex portfolio ($6B budget) that encompasses the complexities and size that comes with the inclusion of IT, Corporate Real Estate, Client Operations, Corporate Support Center, and other enabling teams.
Will work with business lead to coordinate project plans and scheduling.
Will be setting up a PM office function in O'Hare, aligned with the Global Ops PMO.
Must have cross-departmental PM experience.
Airline experience highly preferred.
Manager is looking for someone energetic with strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and earn trust and credibility quickly. Must be able to demonstrate how they will add value.
Experience with Microsoft Project for developing plans and Visio for process mapping required, in addition to Excel and PowerPoint. Must be able to interact with all levels and present to different audiences.
VP is very analytical and data driven, so someone who is able to pull, analyze, and summarize findings is essential.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship. There is potential to convert to full time employment.
10% travel required.
