SAP Functional Analyst

job summary:

  • Responsible for capturing business requirements, preparing functional specifications for the global systems group and coordinating with the technical team where needed

  • Review, analyze, and implement change requests that are submitted for system enhancements, changes, etc. Lead small business requirement discussions

  • Ensure that application changes are appropriately documented, tested and reviewed and occur in agreed change control windows with appropriate monitoring

  • Keep management and end-users informed on the status of all change requests

  • Consult with technical team on all suggested enhancements/changes and develop recommendations for review

  • Participate and sometimes lead any required system testing, to include writing test scripts

  • Maintain knowledge of new and changing technologies, new hardware, new software, and systems techniques that provide the most competitive business tools to support the overall global finance applications group

  • Ensure strict data governance, data privacy, and global application policies are adhered to by the SAP functional team

  • Provide open, frequent, and concise communications across all teams/functions that will ensure a free flow of information and foster a strong culture of collaboration and teaming

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Attributes

  • 4 year college degree in computer science or information management, or equivalent experience required

  • 2-4 years of hands-on experience and expertise with FI/CO and at least one other SAP module (MRS, CPM, BPC) ; S/4 Hana experience a plus

  • Experience with OpenText and VIM a plus

  • Working knowledge of SOLMAN required

  • Working knowledge of SAP security a plus

  • SAP finance ERP implementation experience required

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required

  • Ability to work independently and with a team

  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and discern when to escalate

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks

  • Ability to respond and adapt to change

  • Expert understanding of the integration between ECC/S/4Hana and other applications such as content management systems, bank interfaces, EDI interfaces, etc. required

  • Expert understanding of the integration between SAP components as well as third party applications required

  • Ability to write functional specifications required

  • Ability to write test plans required

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites

  • International travel 5-10%
