job summary:
The Microsoft Security Specialist role is a part of the Security Operation group within the Enterprise Information Technology Infrastructure organization. The position reports to the Manager of Security Operations This role supports / delivers the development and implementation of a transformational security service and delivers protection capabilities and solutions to reduce IT security related risks. This role will be integral in implementing and establishing supporting security programs around Microsoft O365 and Azure, as well as, working directly across multiple teams, management levels, disciplines, technologies, and business groups to enable the company's approach to risk-based information security program.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the design and delivery technical IT Security services and solutions.
Requires a high level of security - strategy, design, implementation, and support.
Supports enterprise level Microsoft Online Security toolsets
Provides Level 2 response to MSO security escalations generated by Information Security and tools, as well as ad-hoc notifications.
Support Security Incident Response upon confirmation of a security incident in accordance with Enterprise Security Incident Response procedure.
Assist in the development, enhancement and implementation of Microsoft cloud security procedures relating to Active Directory, O365, Azure, and others.
Perform analysis of current security threat activity and trends, and prepare status reports and metrics as needed.
Support security solutions and recommendations that resonate with the vision, strategy, and direction of the security operations program.
Support compliance and audit related solutions - specifically supporting the Global Data Privacy Regulation (GDPR), Payment Card Industry (PCI), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), and other regulatory and industry related requirements.
Experience:
B.S. degree or equivalent work experience in risk management, IT security, or relevant field.
Minimum 7 years' experience in working in IT Security, incident response, data security, data loss prevention, network management, or IT operations.
3+ years' experience in IT Security, and demonstrated experience with Microsoft Security Principles.
Experienced in performing programming and scripting tasks.
Preferred security certification such as SANS/ GIAC, CompTIA, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Information Systems Manager (CISM).
Capabilities:
