Director of Program Management

Permanent position: Our client is looking to develop their internal/external training program and are looking for a Director of Product Training to be located in their facility near Chicago, IL. This Director of Product Training will design and oversee product learning and development programs for our client. This will include identifying training needs by consulting with stakeholders, identifying needs/skills gap analyses, developing group and individual learning courses, managing the training budget, etc. This is a direct hire opportunity, travel will be required approximately 40% of the time, relocation is available, and can start immediately.

Responsibilities for the Director of Program Management

  • Lead and drive the development of technical training courses for all levels (beginner, intermediate and advanced) including the promotion of training center, curriculum development, class descriptions, brochures, etc.

  • Coordinate product-related training's, including presentations of new features and simulation activities in a demo environment as well as soft skill training.

  • Develop, communicate and implement tiered training plan for customers (at various levels), manufacturer rep sales representatives and other partners.

  • Manage all aspects of the training center (scheduling, planning, facilities/equipment needs, reporting) and coordinate with sales team and manufacturer reps, at in-house training facilities, in field and in rep training centers.

  • Design, develop and implement training centers at in house facility and selected manufacturer rep training centers.

  • Develop and publish metrics to measure improvement in sales, customer satisfaction/loyalty driven by training program.

Requirements for the Director of Program Management

  • Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Communications or a related field.

  • Proven work experience as a Technical (Product) Training Manager or Director with minimum of 10 years experience in training.

  • Experience in developing technical (product) course content both for novices and experts with E-learning.

  • Customer understanding, technical aptitude, product and application understanding, analytical skills, problem solving and analysis, interpersonal, verbal and written communication, organization, leadership, group presentations, interpersonal skills.

  • Knowledge of web-based learning platforms and modern educational techniques.

  • Ability to travel approximately 40% domestically.
