Distribution Clerk

Utilizes personal computer (PC), wireless workstation, and keyboard/mouse to maintain department records, inventory accuracy, customer order requirements, and receiving and shipping functions and responsibilities. Ensures department is supplied with necessary raw materials and finished goods needed to maintain work flow to complete daily production requirements. Works with suppliers, plant personnel, Purchasing, dealers, and carriers to resolve various issues. Performs initial quality checks of packaging. Weekend "on call" responsibilities may be required.


? Monitors material availability and moves or allocates material inventory to and from controlled locations to control warehouse accuracy. May operate hi-lo or manual material handling devices to move products throughout department. Occasionally lifts/moves and manipulates products weighing up to 50 pounds.

? Performs billing functions of shuttles and trailers going to internal and external customers. Generates manual bills as needed for orders outside system to document accurate loaded products to ensure accurate and timely receipt of product by customer.

? Troubleshoots various system issues, including, but not limited to, failed incoming documents (idocs), failed printing of shipping documents, or correcting address changes, to ensure accurate and timely receipt of product.

? Performs trailer management functions, utilizing Navisphere (TMC) and Automated Dispatch System (ADS) daily, to ensure trailer status accuracy.

? Maintains all related departmental records and files, ensuring records retention guidelines are followed. Corrects reports, files, and transactions as necessary.

? Performs cycle counts on controlled location inventories and adjusts and notifies Resource Planning of any inventory inaccuracies to verify warehouse inventory. Function may require use of ladder or powered lift, to heights up to 20 feet, to complete tasks at multiple levels in warehouse.

Working hours: 4:00 PM - 11:00 PM


  • Assists Team Leaders with search for missing product within warehouse and from internal and/or external suppliers and customers to ensure accurate and timely receipt of product by customer.

  • Performs various office duties, including keyboarding, filing, answering telephones, faxing, and completing various projects as assigned to provide clerical assistance.

  • Assigns type and category to product in warehouse's locations as needed to ensure warehouse inventory accuracy. Activates controlled areas in receiving and point-of-use warehouse.

  • Receives incoming product from suppliers. Performs necessary transactions to ensure accurate allocation of [product to customer demands or ticket to appropriate warehouse, department, or location.

  • Orders supplies and maintenance materials, as needed, utilizing Enterprise Maintenance Planning And Control (EMPAC) and Speed systems, to ensure adequate supplies are available when needed.

  • Runs various reports for operational metrics, such as inbound activity, dwell time, Shipping Schedule Completion (SSC) performance, type and category, and open tickets, to support management as needed.

  • Performs inventory management functions, such as incorrect location, quantities, cancelled orders, stop shipments from plants, and/or warehouse to ensure inventory accuracy. Performs necessary Quality Non-Conforming Material (QNCM); Systems, Applications, Processes (SAP); and Irista system transactions.


No Degree Required




? Two years PC and keyboard/mouse experience in manufacturing/distribution environment required.

? Working knowledge wireless devises and current computer systems used by the company such as Locator, Advanced Manufacturing Accounting Production System (AMAPS), IRISTA, Remedy, EMPAC, Kronos, ADS, Forest & Trees, TMC, SPEED, Customer Order Management Sales Tracking and Reporting (COMSTAR), Microsoft Office, and Business Objects preferred.


? Three years experience in hourly/factory position with one year experience as back-up Clerk.

? Working knowledge of current computer systems such as Locator, AMAPS, Irista, Remedy, EMPAC, Kronos, ADS, Forest & Trees, SAP, TMC, Speed, COMSTAR, Microsoft Office, and Business Objects required.

? Ability to ?multi-task? required.

? Good interpersonal communication skills.

? May use ladder or powered lift to heights up to 20 feet.

? Must be able to lift and or move material weighing up to 50 pounds; ability to work in distribution center environment.

? PC and keyboard/mouse skills required.

? Ability to work frequently during weekends and be ?on call? when not scheduled to work.
