RANDSTAD TECHNOLOGIES IS SEEKING A WEB APPLICATION ENGINEER FOR A 3 MONTH CONTRACT TO HIRE OPPORTUNITY IN JACKSONVILLE. FL.

Experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows Server operating system 2008, 2012, 2016 and related utilities
Experience installing, configuring web applications using both Microsoft and JAVA based web engines (IIS, Tomcat, JBOSS, etc.)
A mix of both Microsoft and JAVA based web engines is REQUIRED - need someone with a good mix of both
- Experience in a Linux environment, SharePoint 2010 & 2016, Service Management Tools

Responsible for deploying the release of new technologies as well as the design, implementation, engineering, maintenance, documentation, and system integration testing performance of PC/server operating systems and medium to complex applications and solutions that are leveraged across multiple line of business.
Leads other support teams to troubleshoot connectivity, server and software issues, deploy code updates, application patches and version upgrades, remediate identified vulnerabilities and engage vendor support as needed
Recommends, schedules and implements system and/or software upgrades or repairs.
Implements high risk application-level patching and upgrades
Creates and updates application documentation.
Performs server access review and validation
Recommends appropriate security models to maintain secure systems
Proposes and implements systems enhancements that will improve the reliability and performance of the systems.
Monitors application/server usage and performance
Responds to and remediates alerts and outages
Participates in an on-call rotation to supplement offshore support
Provides advanced level troubleshooting as needed for post-patching application/server availability issues
Trains personnel on system usage.
Troubleshoots server and software issues (full stack, may include: network, database, OS, and application).
Certificate deployment and renewals.
3rd Party agent installs and upgrades.
Performs other duties as required.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
skills: SKILLS & ABILITIES
Good working knowledge of Windows Server operating system 2008, 2012, 2016 and related utilities
Good working knowledge of Windows and JAVA based web engines (IIS, Tomcat, JBOSS, etc.)
Knowledge of TCP/IP
Good working knowledge of network troubleshooting tools (WireShark, NetMon, CPORTS, etc.)
Ability to effectively analyze and solve problems
Ability to work independently as well as with a team
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, employees, and vendors
Ability to establish effective and repeatable review processes for servers and applications
Understanding of web application deployment and troubleshooting methodologies
Ability to effectively use Microsoft SharePoint 2010 and 2016
Ability to effectively use Service Management Tools (CA Service Desk, Servicenow)
Experience in a Linux environment
