Electrical Maintenance Mechanic

Our client in Manchester is a prime provider of cables and wires for all the major industries such as construction, communications, energy, and industrial applications. With their recent merger, they have defined their stance in the market and look to continue to grow as a company into the future.

We are seeking the best candidate who has experience as an Electrical Maintenance Mechanic to apply today! This is a PERMANENT opportunity and is a 2nd shift position (Mon-Fri) with overtime available.

Responsibilities:

In this role you will report to the Maintenance Manager. You will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electrical circuits, as well as, supporting the daily production activities by installing, diagnosing, repairing and maintaining electrical equipment in a manufacturing environment.

-Locates sources of problems by observing electrical/mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments.

-Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.

-Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies.

-Conserves maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.

-Prepares maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

Working hours: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM

Skills:

-Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics and parts specifications.

-Can troubleshoot and repair basic electrical component issues, i.e., replace ballasts, fuses, circuit breakers, etc.

-Working knowledge of PLCs and automation.

-Install, diagnose and repair electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical components of industrial machinery and equipment.

-Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.

-Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

-Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Qualifications:

-The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in an electrical maintenance atmosphere.

-Must provide evidence of electrical training or technical degree.

-Must provide your own tools.
