Product Design Engineer

Permanent position: Product Development Engineer in Milwaukee, WI.A strong cultured metals client is looking for a Product Development Engineer. Role is located in Milwaukee, WI. Our client is looking for 2-15 years of industrial manufacturing product/supplier quality engineering experience. Must have a Bachelors related to Engineering. Client is offering a strong culture with a base pay of $70 K- $90 K maybe $95 K,lump sum for relocation assistance or sign on bonus benefits and a quarterly bonus.Seeking close to a subject matter expert due to new business development.

Responsibilities for the Product Design Engineer

  • New position that has been created. Client has taken upon new business and they are looking for an experienced Product Engineer to start working on their current engineering projects

  • Supports and executes the requirements of the new product development (NPD) process. Follows the process from product concept through the handoff to production.

  • Responsible for new part creation, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and the Production Part Approval (PPAP) Process.

  • Establishes quality control plans, product build and final design release that enable our product/process to meet customer specifications.

  • Collaborates with sales and marketing team on product innovation initiatives and production on production innovation initiatives.

  • Compiles and evaluates process or product design and test data

  • Evaluates and recommends design approaches to meet production requirements for new or improved products or processes.

  • Participate or Lead cross-functional product trial review team to ensure products and processes meet applicable quality and productivity criteria.

  • Develop and implement standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation. Work with related departments to design and develop new gauging processes or equipment.

Requirements for the Product Design Engineer

  • Seeking experience from a manufacturing setting as a Product Engineer/PPAP experience 2 -15 years

  • Ideally seeking a Engineer from the Automotive industry but will consider other heavy industry sectors

  • BS in Engineering/Technical degree. BSME or a degree related to Metallurgy

  • Must be able to hit the ground running with minimal to no training

  • Willingness to work with a team and be the lead Engineer on the project

  • Product Development experience

  • Experience with PPAP's is a must/Quality Experience/testing etc.

  • Experience with metal fabrication or CNC machined components
