Payroll Supervisor

job summary:

Duties and responsibilities:

Supervise production, administration, verification and transmission of K9T biweekly payroll.

PAYROLL

  • Must ensure effective administration of payroll policies, procedures & processes

  • Must ensure compliance with all applicable wage and hour laws

  • Assist and oversee data entry of new hire information into ADP

  • Assist and oversee data entry of employee changes and garnishments

  • Process salary increases and retro calculations

  • Collect and sort time and effort reporting for departments

  • Create payroll batches

  • Input of hours in ADP worksheets

  • Balance batch totals for paydata / hourly batches

  • Notify ADP of all voids, stop payments and direct deposit reversals

  • Prepare manual checks calculations as needed

  • Verify employee changes Payroll

  • Review all payroll registers prior to payroll distribution

  • Ensure Employment Eligibility (I-9) forms E-Verify system

  • Maintain copies of payroll reports needed for accountant

  • Run and check payroll summary report for discrepancies.

  • Review negative accrual balance report prior to transmission of payroll

  • PC/ Payroll and updating and maintaining accruals as needed

  • Process all increases and terminations, and transfers

  • Verify calculation of employee vacation payouts

  • Process all Personnel Change forms; transfers, promotions etc

  • Grant TotalPay Card Admin Access for New hires

  • Troubleshoot and maintain Timesaver data (includes creating new users)

  • Responsible for management of outstanding/voided checks

  • Review and generate requests for Manual checks

  • Maintain manual check information for accountants

  • Recommend changes as needed to uphold efficiency of the office operations

REPORTING

  • Weekly New Hire/Active report/feed to CUMC/NYP (WINSCP)

  • Generate Monthly Accrual Report and upload onto Website

  • Monthly state tax jurisdiction coding audit report

  • Quarterly New Dept/Location report

  • Monthly Termination report to CUMC/IDX

  • Create various reports as needed

  • Ensure staff runs quarterly I-9 expired doc & Inactive employees report

OTHER DUTIES

  • Conduct Payroll section of Managers Orientation as scheduled

  • Validate and sign off employment verification forms and letters as needed

  • Enter clock position for new hire after 60-day eligibility period on bi-weekly basis

  • Performance Management of Support Staff (provide effective feedback and conducts reviews w/ Mgmt)

  • Handle miscellaneous employee requests as needed

  • Assist with special projects

  • Must maintain strictest confidentiality at all times

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS :

Minimum Education

  • Bachelors degree preferred or minimum 6 years Payroll Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of ADP EV5 required

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) preferred
