Industrial Maintenance Technician

Company is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support within the facility, focusing on maintaining, troubleshooting, and modifying material handling equipment and systems to ensure operational performance of conveyors, washers, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, print and apply systems, and boilers.

Responsibilities:

Promote a safe working environment by adhering to all safety standards and policies

Maintain and troubleshoot all conveyor systems, electrical and mechanical

Perform Preventative, Predictive, and Corrective Maintenance

Execute training plans for engineering personnel

Be familiar with, maintain and operate boilers and steam systems

Install, maintain, and troubleshoot control components/systems such as: relay logic, ladder logic diagrams, photo eyes, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, timers, solenoids, Servo drives, frequency inverters, linear drives, tachometers, and encoders

Work Orders management by inputting appropriate data to include labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used into Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

Conduct maintenance and higher-level troubleshooting of automation equipment and associated support systems

Troubleshoot PLC programs including using ladder logic, components (CPU back plains, I/O boards, counters, modules, and devices) and communications modules (Ethernet, Can-bus, etc.)

Mentor technicians by providing guidance and directions to help them achieve goals

Maintain and troubleshoot power distribution systems, branch circuits, lighting systems, transformers, and wiring methods and materials up to 480V

Develop work plan for repair of critical assets

Work plan to include coordinating with operations, locating parts/tools for repair, scheduling time with equipment, etc.

Develop and maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organization

Keep up to date in field

Perform other duties as assigned

Working hours: 9:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Skills:

--High school diploma or equivalent (required)

--3 years field experience

--Ability to work all days/shifts, and overtime in support of 24/7 operations, including holidays

--Experience in the following areas:

--Automated conveyors systems and controls

--Electrical and electronic knowledge

--Preventative maintenance procedures

--Blueprint and schematic reading

--Industrial electrical

--Industrial controls

--Industrial Electronics

--Programmable Logic Control (PLC) programs

--National Electrical Code (NEC) and NFPA 70E

--Work order management (CMMS)

--PC knowledge, Word & Excel and Windows OS

Education:

High School

Experience:

Experienced

Qualifications:

Degree from a vocational school or college with a focus in the Mechanical or Electrical field

4 years apprenticeship or equivalent experience in the Mechanical or Electrical field

Black Seal High Pressure Boiler Operator preferred

Previous supervisory and/or management experience

Previous experience in vendor management

Experience with maintenance for robotics or significant automation

Proficient in the English language

Lift and move totes up to 49 pounds each

Regular bending, lifting, stretching and reaching both below the waist and above the head

Occasionally push and pull carts/dollies loaded with up to 100 pounds

Engage in full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists

Ability to climb ladders and gangways safely and without limitation

Dexterity in hand/eye coordination, feet (foot pedals), manual (picking, pinching, holding, grasping), and wrist motion (repetitive flexion/rotation)

Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces

Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours
