Service Desk Technician 4

job summary:

We have a 2 month contract for a Sr. Service Desk Technician in Oakland, CA.

Job Duties:

This position assists staff with technical support of desktop computers, applications, and related technology. Support includes specification, installation, and testing of computer systems and peripherals within established standards and guidelines. Activities require interaction with application software and operating systems to diagnose and resolve unique, non-recurring problems. The position utilizes one-on-one consultancy to end users and University Network staff. The employee in this position also assists in the maintenance and testing of network servers and associated equipment. The position's responsibilities require independent analyses, communication and problem solving. Work is performed with little supervision and requires initiative and judgment.

  • Associate's degree (Bachelor's Degree Preferred) in communications or related field; supplemented with a minimum of (5) years of related work experience, and background in production, AV and video equipment

  • ITIL Foundation Certificate (V2) (Preferred)

  • Previous experience of working in an IT support role. (Required) - Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and MAC client operating systems as well as various software packages including Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite. (Required)

  • Experience supporting Microsoft Office 2010, 2016 with an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, including mobile devices in a corporate environment. (required) Previous experience supporting Office 365 is highly desirable.

  • Experience using remote support tools such as Bomgar, SCCM, Zendesk, or similar. (Required)

  • Excellent IT skills and computer literacy. (Required)

  • Previous Experience within a customer service role. (Required)
