Desktop Support Technician

job summary:

Randstad Technologies is seeking a level II desktop support position for an exciting opportunity in Overland Park, KS. Most of the work will be hands on troubleshooting of end user systems including PC's, Laptops, Handheld's, Tablets, Smart Phones, VOIP Phones and Software. Support will be hands-on and / or over the phone using remote control tools.

  • Provides prompt, efficient, courteous service to both internal and external end users.

  • Configures, installs and maintains micro computer equipment and related peripherals (printers, monitors, projection systems, etc.) within the Company.

  • Provide smartphone, handheld, VOIP phone, and tablet support.

  • Provide end user support for company approved software.

  • Work and document incidents and requests in ITS ticketing system.

  • Participates in technology projects as necessary.


  • Requires six months experience in Help Desk function or related work.

  • Demonstrated experience doing PC refreshes and new deployments.

  • Ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Self-starter with strong diagnostic troubleshooting skills to provide second level support for the end users at several Company locations across North America.

  • Industry certification (MCP, MSCE, A+, etc.), manufacturer certification (Dell, Cisco, VMWare, etc.) are preferred.

  • Technical trade school certificate, diploma, or Associate's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.


  • Effective written and oral communication skills and ability to interact appropriately with others.

  • Positive team oriented attitude.
