Process Engineer

Process Engineer located near Rockport, WV at an industrial manufacturer that designs and manufacturers innovative products and components for the Aerospace and Defense industries. This position is responsible to provide process engineering technical support to the manufacturing group to improve process and manufacturing activities on the plant floor. Must have a BS Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering discipline is preferred) and at least five (5) years of process engineering experience in a manufacturing environment to be considered. Responsibilities for the Process Engineer

  • Provide technical support to maintenance operations to improve the effectiveness of equipment and process failures

  • Expected that 40% of the time will be spent on the floor coaching, observing, auditing, and communicating to manufacturing crews

  • 30% of the time will be spent collecting and analysing data to provide process improvement solutions

  • Lead process and quality resources within the department

  • Lead and maintain the Process FMEA

  • Lead workshops on internal and external customer complaints and be responsible for the execution of the resultant action plans

  • Lead and Participate in related lean workshops to the process such as SMEDs, Safety 8Ds, or 5S workshops

  • Become the driver to take the initiative to improve lean manufacturing

Requirements for the Process Engineer

  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering is required (Discipline in Mechanical, Electrical, Metallurgical, Chemical, or related field is ideal)

  • Requires a Minimum of five (5) Years of experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Must have Lean Manufacturing experience (SMEDs, Safety 8Ds, or 5S workshops)

  • Must be able to provide effective communication to management and to the manufacturing floor to drive and improve process/quality issues

  • Ability to lead and maintain the Process FMEA
