We are looking for an experience contracts administrator for a licensed subcontractor in commercial construction. This well established company furnishes and installs proprietary life safety
products. The Contracts & Insurance Administrator lowers the company's risk by reviewing and negotiating commercial construction agreements, and insurance requirements in accordance with company policies and operations
capabilities. The role ensures the company is compliant with federal, state, local, and insurance standards. This role also assists in the preparation, review, negotiation and administration of contracts and purchase orders relating to construction projects.
This is a 4-6 months contract position with an hourly rate of $35/hour, flexible work schedule and benefits included.
Review and process all paperwork associated with project contracts, including pre- and post-contract
requirements, obtaining certificates of insurance and bonds, miscellaneous subcontractor requirements,
prevailing wage requirements, lien waiver, etc.
Communicate and gain alignment with Director of Operations for special contractual requirements as needed
on a project specific basis
Track contracts and insurance certifications to ensure that they are up to date
Review bid insurance requirements, in charge of making sure any other forms and approvals are obtained
before construction begins.
Complete and submit insurance paperwork (certificate requests, bond requests, renewals, etc.) as required by
law or company policy in a timely manner.
Administer insurance wrap-up programs (OCIP & CCIP) by reviewing all wrap-up manuals, processing WU
forms and supporting correspondence (enrollment forms, premium worksheets, Notice of Completion, etc.),
completing reports, and approving or disputing amounts.
Participate in all insurance audits, annual renewals, and provide requested information as needed
Review and edit contractual insurance requirements, general contract terms, and project specific contract
terms according to company guidelines and directives
Assist the General Manager and/or Director of Operations with requests from corporate legal
Develop and maintain procedures for contract and insurance certificate review
Attend training to maintain knowledge and awareness of industry laws and practices
Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Strong knowledge of construction industry practices and procedures
Strong knowledge of bidding processes, contract terminology, liens, and invoicing
Strong knowledge of construction insurance programs, particularly liability and workers' comp
Ability to communicate in a professional manner (verbally & in writing) with internal and external customers
Must be able to analyze and interpret laws and regulations
Must be highly organized and detail oriented
Moderate to advanced Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
High School diploma or equivalent is required
Associates or Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred
Must have industry required certifications
1+ years proven experience in a construction or insurance Contract Administrator role
Experience with insurance wrap-up program (OCIP & CCIP) administration
