Contract position: We are looking for a CADD Solid Model/Drawing Checker to work for a leading defense contractor in Sunnyvale, CA. This is a contract position that is expected to last 6 months with possible extension based on performance.
Responsibilities for the Checker
Under general direction from Engineering Manager, checks product baseline solid models and drawings from details through final assembly for form, fit, function, completeness, and accuracy.
Review and check own work and draftspersons work for accuracy; reviews design models, drawings, and design documents for quality, accuracy, neatness, functionality, and satisfactory completion in accordance with ASME Y14.100.
Verifies that all views, sections, dimensions, callouts, notes, specifications, and drawings are in compliance with ASME as well as company requirements.
Requirements for the Checker
Must have 4 years' experience as a Checker or equivalent.
Have basic understanding of Top Down-Design.
Knowledge of Engineering Change process and data management control.
Must have working knowledge and understanding of Drawing and Drafting Standards: ANSI Y14.5M, Mil Spec, ASME, and Solid Modeling Standards.
Familiarity with ASME Y14.100-2013 and ASME Y14.5-2009 is preferred
Have working knowledge of CADD database system (Required CREO 2+ Preferred: NX 10)
