Technical Writer & Communication Specialist

job summary:

Our client is seeking a highly-skilled process creation and communication professional to join a dynamic, global logistics services team. This role is responsible for executing the global branding strategy. This includes promoting a cohesive brand/voice across multiple logistics and supply chain disciplines through branding, design, customer facing and internal materials. This person will ensure meaningful and high-quality content deliverables are being developed, such as: documentation of standard operating procedures (SOP), standard work instruction (SWI) and protocols along with the creation of reporting templates, email templates, presentations and web content. Ensure that all forms of communication convey the right information in an easily digestible and professional format. This means, he/she will spend the day reviewing content, making edits on business writing, tables and charts, etc. They will also assess customer, vendor and team needs to make informed decisions on content production. This role will be working onsite with a large global customer.

responsibilities:

Job Tasks ? Develop and implement new programs and processes that streamline communication across a global team ? Advise management team of effective media that will aid in efficiency and greater customer service ? Create, review, edit, redesign, reconstruct, and/or improve new and existing content for all written communications to meet the needs of various teams within the program and the customer (standard operating procedures (SOP), standard work instructions (SWI), reports, newsletters, email, presentations, web content, process maps, organizational charts, etc.) ? Understand the teams' products and services and customer requirements to provide guidance, tailor creative solutions and satisfy regional and global needs Develop and implement new programs and processes that streamline communication across a global team ? Design and produce quality written and visual templates creating a specialized brand; implement high standards for all communication paths (internal to internal stakeholders, internal to vendors, internal to customer) ? Responsible for working with all global teams to gather technical information, research procedures, and attain layout/images and workflows needed to produce detailed work instructions ? Create and document communication structure which reinforces daily operational communication and manages customer interaction ? Support product/service/regional/global managers projects as assigned ? Responsible for holding business partners accountable for providing appropriate content and adhering to communications timelines and overall strategy ? Proactively seek feedback and obtain consensus from project initiation through final product approval

qualifications:

Education and Experience ? Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, supply chain management or other related field ? Masters Degree in business related field, preferred ? Superior editorial and interpersonal skills ? 3+ years of experience in technical writing, SOP/SWI creation, corporate communication strategy creation (submit work samples which do not violate non-disclosure agreements are required of candidates) ? Familiarity with logistics operations (Transportation/Order Management/Import & Export Compliance) ? Experience with performance metrics and data visualization tools ? Solid written and verbal communication skills; experience in creating engaging communication media that drive understanding and execution from the end user ? Seasoned communications professional with strong business writing and project management skills, with a high level of attention to detail ? Strong project management history; proven ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously while managing shifting priorities and delivering quality results ? Advanced Microsoft Office Tools & or Google Suite Skills Required; LucidChart & or Vizio experience preferred; website design/creation preferred ? Enthusiastic, positive, creative, self-motivated, self-starter, open to feedback

skills: Skills Required This position requires the ability to work independently and within a global team. Willingness to overcome barriers with time, distance, and sometimes culture. A technical writing background, logistics operations experience, corporate communication skills, strong written and verbal communication ability, customer service minded, detail oriented with knowledge of Microsoft Office/Google Suite, data analytics, and web development. Global travel may be required (up to 25%).
