Description:

Duties:

  • Helps define processes for tasks with minimal supervision to create and manage physical data models for applications, data warehouse, and data marts.

  • Creates and manages logical data models for an enterprise and/or project level where projects are of medium complexity and moderate in risk.

  • Documents and maps interaction between business processes, information, and data to ensure that business has data integration for projects which are of medium complexity and moderate risk.

  • Performs gap analysis (including problem resolution and change management) and evaluation between information requirements and the quality of design of database and database administration environment of vendor purchased and/or outsource solutions, actively working to share knowledge.

  • Manages physical design and integration of databases to support information requirements where projects are of medium complexity and moderate in risk.

  • Serves as a key team member and may assume role of team lead to develop, implement, and support methodologies, standards, and tools for data management such as metadata management, data mining, data modeling, data cleansing, transformation and matching, data stewardship, data quality, data integration, data security, and data marts.

  • Provides input to design of application systems and interfaces to ensure data access, integration, integrity, and security for projects which are of medium complexity and moderate risk.

  • Performs database/application performance tuning, data transformation and mapping, backup, and recovery of application databases including disaster recovery with minimal supervision.

  • As a Sr. Reliability Database Developer at client , you will work on a cross-functional team focused on Database Development, Data Science, and Data Tool chains related to Engine Quality, Engine Reliability and Machine Health.

  • You will work to develop methods, tools and processes to mine warranty and machine data, analyze current reliability and predict future reliability.

  • There will be a focus on data mining from multiple data sources as well as an emphasis on processing of large data sets and the use of machine learning and automation.

  • The position works closely with Information Technology (IT) teams focused on data, databases and data science.

Responsibilities include:

Reliability database processing and development:

  • Maintaining and updating legacy Reliability database

  • Working with Reliability and IT teams to transition to cloud based data sources

  • Weekly and monthly mining of multiple databases around the globe for Quality and Reliability reporting

  • Incorporating analysis tools into databases and database tool chains

  • Develop tool chains and methodology to model and track reliability throughout the product life cycle

  • Focus on Machine Learning and Automation

  • Provide leadership to less experienced employees in the area of database programming and data science

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, Data Science or related discipline

  • Strong knowledge of database systems, data analytics, and business intelligence tools

  • Strong knowledge with database software and commands, emphasis on SQL and Microsoft Access

  • Experience with machine learning

  • Experience in programming; Python, R, or similar

  • Advanced degree or 5 years' experience working in Computer Science, IT or related discipline
