Automation Technician

Permanent position: Automation Technicians needed at leading electronics manufacturer located in West Columbia, SC. (12) total Automation Technicians will be needed for these direct hire positions. (6) Will be needed on 1st shift and (6) will be needed on 2nd shift. This is a chance to join a rapidly growing industry leader. Salary will commensurate with experience. APPLY NOW!

Responsibilities for the Automation Technician

  • Responsible for the maintenance and technical support of automated and semi-automated manufacturing solutions for a high-volume consumer products application.

  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and components and return to serviceability.

  • Repair and maintain electrical controls on molding, assembly and packaging machines.

  • Repair robot end tools, mechanical systems, and controls, calibrate and adjust robot pick and place points if needed.

  • Identify risk areas likely to cause equipment break-downs, participate in projects for the purpose of improving equipment reliability, process improvement, and lean manufacturing.

  • Perform preventative maintenance of robotic and process support equipment.

  • Analyzes engineering test results and implements changes to resolve problems.

Requirements for the Automation Technician

  • High School Diploma; Associates Degree, Bachelor's Degree or equivalent Vocational Training preferred

  • 2+ years' experience working in manufacturing operations as a technician/mechanic

  • Foundational mechanical and electrical knowledge and understanding

  • Understanding of PLC's and logic - Allen Bradley preferred

  • Understanding of automated manufacturing principles and techniques

  • Experience with high-volume manufacturing of medical device, pharmaceutical, food, beverage, automotive, or electronics applications preferred
